
Tourists Sweep Braves

Rome, GA - The Asheville Tourists defeated the Rome Braves 7-4 completing the four game sweep Sunday afternoon in front of 3,062 fans.
The Braves took the lead in the first inning when Cole Miles singled, stole second, moved to third on a throwing error and later scored on a ground out to make the score 1-0. The Braves would add another run in the second inning Michael Fisher singled up the middle and scored on an RBI single by Yohan Silva for the 2-0. The Tourists would take the lead in the fourth inning when Brian Rike hit a three run homerun (11) to lead 3-2. Asheville added two more runs in the fifth when Brian Aguailar singled and later scored on a triple by Everth Cabrera. Darin Holcomb later doubled to score Cabrera to give Asheville the 5-2 advantage. Rome attempted to rally in the sixth inning when Benji Johnson singled and scored on a Cody Johnson double and he later scored on a Jon Gilmore RBI groundout to bring the Braves within one run 5-4. Asheville added insurance runs in the eighth and ninth to make the final 7-4.
Jhoulys Chacin (9-1) gets the win for Asheville, Randall Taylor (19) the save, and Chad Rodgers (1-7) takes the loss for the Braves.
