Toros Edged By Roadrunners 5-4 In St. George

St. George, UT-The Tucson Toros quest to clinch a playoff spot was temporarily put on hold by a 5-4 loss to the St. George Roadrunners Wednesday. With the loss, the earliest Tucson could clinch a spot would be Friday and guarantees that if the Toros do clinch a spot in the postseason, they will be do it in front of their home town fans at Hi Corbett Field during this weekend's series.

Tucson got out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning in Wednesday's loss, when Junior Spivey drove in Skip Adams who led the game off with a double. St. George answered back with 1-run tallies in each of the first three frames against Tucson starter Jason Jacome, and led the remainder of the game.

Both Adams and Spivey had 2 hits, with Adams scoring half of the team's runs. Rightfielder Andre Marshall blasted a solo home run in the sixth inning for his 9th of the year, just 2 off of the team lead.

The two teams will face each other once again Thursday to wrap up the series in St. George, before both heading to Tucson to finish the regular season with a pivotal four game series that will begin Friday night at Hi Corbett Field.
