TUCSON, AZ - The Tucson Toros closed out their 2009 exhibition season with a convincing 10-3 win over the Arizona Diamondback Extended Spring team.

Toros' Manager Tim Johnson got another good look at his pitching staff as he threw 11 pitchers in the nine inning contest. All fared well as they shut the Diamondbacks down to three runs on five hits in the nine inning contest.

The Toros also showed some pop at the plate as they scored 10 runs on 13 hits. Franklin Gonzales and Lyndon Poole provided the power for the Toros as Gonzales hit a homerun in the second inning and Poole hit a shot in the third. Poole reached base in each of his three plate appearances as he hit a double and reached on a hit by pitch.

Jim Rushford also had a couple extra base knocks as he went 2-5, with a pair of doubles and he drove in three RBI.

Dustin Yount also had a good day at the plate as he reached base five times when he went 2-3, was hit by a pitch, walked and reached on an error.
