Mustangs make first ever trip to Frisco this weekend
The home stand continues as the 1st place Texas Tornado (12-2-3, 27 pts.) host the 6th place New Mexico Mustangs (5-10-2, 12 pts.) on Friday, November 5th and Saturday, November 6th both at 7:30pm at the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco. This will be the first ever trip for New Mexico to Frisco to take on the Tornado, who have won a NAHL season-high 10 straight games. The last time these two teams played was back on October 15-16 in New Mexico when the Tornado swept the Mustangs by scores of 8-2 and 3-1. Tornado Fight Against Childhood Cancer Weekend
The Texas Tornado in cooperation with Children's Medical Center, have teamed up for the Fight Against Childhood Cancer weekend. This weekend during the home games, the Tornado will be wearing specially designed jerseys to commemorate the weekend of awareness. Following the game on Saturday night, the Tornado will host an auction for the public for the game worn jerseys by each player. A portion of the proceeds from the weekend sale of merchandise, sponsorship, tickets and the auction of the game worn jerseys will benefit the not-for-profit organization. Each Texas Tornado player has been paired with a child battling cancer and pending their treatment schedule each child will attend the games with their family. That child's name will be listed on the bottom of each jersey, below the player's number. Each child will also receive a jersey from the Tornado commemorating the event and honoring their courage.
Tornado host Mudslingin' Madness on Friday
The Texas Tornado announced that the November 5th home game against the New Mexico Mustangs will be "Mudslingin' Madness" night! Fans who bring in a candidate's election sign from this past Tuesday's election season will receive $2 off the cost of up to four Premium or Fan Zone tickets at the box office. If a sign happens to have mud on it, the fan bringing it in will receive a $4 discount on the ticket price! Seats are available at the box office or by calling 972.335.9800.
Five Tornado members selected to Top Prospects
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced the rosters for next month's Top Prospects Tournament, sponsored by SBK Hockey, which will be held from Dec. 5-7 at the Iorio Ice Arena in Walpole, Mass. Five Texas Tornado representatives were selected including: forward and captain #21 David Rigatti, leading scorer #19 Rock Einersen, the NAHL's leading goaltender #31 Jimmy Kruger and the NAHL assist leader #29 Ralfs Freibergs. Texas Tornado Head Coach Tony Curtale has been selected as the Head Coach of Team Rafalski, one of the four teams in the tournament.
Upcoming Tornado promotions
December 11 - Military appreciation night. Players will wear military themed jerseys and a portion of the proceeds from the post-game jersey auction will benefit Snowball Express.
December 18 - Teddy Bear Toss. Bring your teddy bears to the game and toss them onto the ice when the Tornado score their first goal. All soft toys will be donated to local non-profit organizations.
