Too Little Too Late for Power in 101-90 Loss

(Windsor, ON - ) The Mississauga Power traveled to Windsor tonight looking to end a two-game losing streak against the league leading Express however, a late run by the Power was not enough, as the team fell 101-90. Travis Releford led the Power with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Warren Ward contributed 20 points with 8 rebounds.

The Express started the game on a 7-2 run but the Power quickly responded to tie the game at seven apiece. The two teams exchanged leads in the first quarter with neither taking control of the game. The Power trailed 19-22 after the first quarter.

The Power would struggle in the second quarter, with the Express dominating the visitors on both ends of the floor. The Express would go on a 12-2 run to build a 13 point lead before the Power responded. The Express would once again regain control and end the quarter on a 9-0 run to take a 50-33 lead heading into the half.

The Power started the third quarter on a 7-0 run, slicing the Express lead down to 10. The Express responded however, building their lead back up to as much as 21 late in the third. The Power would click well offensively and take a slight edge for the quarter, cutting the Express' lead down to 77-63 at the end of the quarter.

The Power made one last attempt at a run in the fourth going on a massive 15-0, cutting down the lead to just five points. The Power appeared to fall short on energy giving up a run to the Express as the home team cruised to the 101-90 win.

The Power will play next at home against the London Lightning on February 8th.
