The Tomahawks split their weekend series with the Team USA National Development Team dropping Sunday afternoon's game 9-4. It was a well fought battle as the U17 National Team battled back from yesterday's loss.
Team USA showed offensive dominance with all nine goals coming from different players.
The Tomahawks had a strong start again opening the period with the game's first three goals, coming from Max Neill (LW), Drew Murphy (RW) and Dominic Schimizzi (RW) followed by two from Team USA in the later stages of the period.
During the 2nd period, both teams settled into the game with solid back and forth play to have the middle frame ending with 4 goals for each team.
Things started heating up between the two teams and the physicality eventually carried over to the 3rd period. The Tomahawks ended the game with 12 penalty minutes. Three of their six penalties came in the 3rd period.
The Hawks begin their 2020-2021 regular season against the Maryland Black Bears in Maryland next weekend on Friday and Saturday. Join us at 1ST Summit Arena on Friday October 16 at 7:30 for the home opener against the Maine Nordiques.
