Johnstown Tomahawks News Release
The Johnstown Tomahawks fall to the Maryland Black Bears in the second of three games on the weekend in Maryland by a final score of 5-1.
Hunter Ramos opened the scoring Saturday for Maryland with his nineteenth goal of the season just 41 seconds into the game. Kaleb Tiessen then made it 2-0 for the Black Bears with just under five minutes remaining in the first to give Maryland the lead to end the period.
Adam Schankula added on for Maryland 6:43 into the second period to give his club a 3-0 lead. Johnstown's Will Lawrence responded to put Johnstown on the board, leaving the Black Bears with a 3-1 lead going into the third period.
8:20 into the third period Kareem El Bashir makes it 4-1 in favor of Maryland, followed by a goal from Riley Ruh five minutes later, making it a 5-1 final for the Black Bears.
The two teams face off for the final time on the weekend Sunday afternoon at 2 PM for Piney Orchard Ice Arena live on HockeyTV.
