Tomahawks Announce 2018-19 Promotional Schedule

JOHNSTOWN - The Johnstown Tomahawks, proud members of the North American Hockey League, today announced their 2018-19 promotional schedule featuring the return of several popular theme nights as well as several exciting, new promotions and celebrity appearances!
The home portion of the schedule kicks off on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. against the Jamestown Rebels. Opening Night is presented by 1ST SUMMIT Bank. Fans will receive a magnet schedule courtesy of 1ST SUMMIT Bank. Opening weekend is punctuated by Faceoff Against Cancer presented by Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. The team will wear specialty pink jerseys and honor cancer survivors and those who lost the battle.
The October home schedule rounds out with Hat-Trick or Treat at the Rink presented by Forever Media on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. Fans will receive a Tomahawks tote bag to collect their Halloween treats in the concourse.
The seventh annual Pucks & Paws returns on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 5:00 p.m. Fans may bring their friendly four-legged friends to the game and receive a free souvenir dog bowls!
November's slate of games features the popular Military Appreciation weekend presented by Martin-Baker (Friday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7:00 p.m.), Christmas Ornament giveaway (Friday, Nov. 16) presented by Admiral Peary Vo-Tech and Star Wars Night presented by Beginnings, Inc. (Saturday, Nov. 17).
New to the promotional schedule is Johnstown Chiefs Throwback Night featuring a souvenir poster commemorating the history of the Johnstown Chiefs.
The annual Teddy Bear Toss returns on Saturday, Dec. 15 as the team takes on the New Jersey Titans.
The traditional New Year's Eve contest takes place on Monday, Dec. 31 at 6 p.m. This season, the Tomahawks will be joined by country music's newest sensation and Cresson, Pa., native Josh Gallagher!
January, the team presents Hockey & Heels on Friday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. as well as Oldies Night presented by the Pennsylvania Lottery. Fans will receive free PA Lottery coupons during the game.
In February, the schedule features the return of Kids Weekend (Friday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 2), Faith and Family Night presented by Laurel Highlands FCA (Friday, Feb. 8), Princesses & Heroes Night presented by JAHA (Saturday, Feb. 9) and Undies Sunday (Sunday, Feb. 10).
Fans will be treated to a Mystery Bobblehead Giveaway on Saturday, Feb. 16 when the team hosts Jamestown.
The team's March schedule features the second annual Fight Night presented by Valley Printing on Friday, March 8 and the seventh annual Guns & Hoses charity game presented by Advanced Office Systems on Saturday, March 9.
The regular season ends with Fan Appreciation weekend Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30. Friday's game will also be Racing Night presented by Jennerstown Speedway. UPMC Health Plan is the presenting sponsor of Fan Appreciation Weekend.

The Tomahawks meet the Rebels on Opening Night presented by 1ST SUMMIT Bank. Fans will walk away with a 2018-19 magnet schedule courtesy of 1ST SUMMIT Bank.
Saturday, October 6 (7:00 p.m.) vs. Jamestown - Faceoff Against Cancer presented by Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber
The Tomahawks join the fight against cancer with the annual Faceoff Against Cancer. The team will wear specialty pink jerseys that will be available for auction via the DASH Auction app.
Saturday, October 27 (7:00 p.m.) vs. Northeast - Hat-Trick or Treat at the Rink presented by Forever Media
Dress up as your favorite ghoul or goblin and trick or treat at the arena. Trick or treaters will receive a free Tomahawks tote bag courtesy of Forever Media.
Sunday, October 28 (5:00 p.m.) vs. Northeast - Pucks & Paws presented by Cambria Vet Care
The seventh annual Pucks & Paws game returns as we open the games to man's best friend. The team will be giving away souvenir dog bowls!
Friday, November 9 (7:30 p.m.) vs. Maryland - Military Appreciation Weekend Kick-Off
The team will honor our nation's veterans with the traditional Military Appreciation weekend festivities including specialty jerseys.
Saturday, November 10 (7:00 p.m.) vs. Maryland - Military Appreciation Weekend/Scout Night presented by Martin-Baker
It's the continuation of our Military Appreciation Weekend along with our popular Scout Night promotion. Scouts will earn free Scout Badges.
Friday, November 16 (8:05 p.m.) vs. New Jersey - Christmas Ornament Giveaway presented by Admiral Peary Vo-Tech
Courtesy of Admiral Peary Vo-Tech, fans will be given a free Tomahawks-themed Christmas ornament.
Saturday, November 17 (7:00 p.m.) vs. New Jersey- Star Wars Night presented by Beginnings, Inc.

Saturday, December 15 (7:00 p.m.) vs. New Jersey- Teddy Bear Toss and Ugly Sweater Night
Fans are asked to bring their Teddy Bears to toss onto the ice after the Tomahawks' first goal. Also, the team encourages fans to wear their ugliest sweater to the game. Santa Claus will also be making an appearance!
Sunday, December 30 (7:00 p.m.) vs. Northeast- Pack the House for Charity presented by the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies
The Tomahawks will give back to local charities by packing the house.
Monday, December 31 (6:00 p.m.) vs. Northeast- New Year's Eve with Josh Gallagher
Up and coming country music sensation and Cresson, Pa., native Josh Gallagher will help ring in the new year with the Tomahawks during the traditional New Year's Eve game.
Friday, January 18 (7:30 p.m.) vs. WB/Scranton- Hockey & Heels
Special ladies promotions and giveaways will be a part of Hockey & Heels Night.
Saturday, January 19 (7:00 p.m.) vs. WB/Scranton- Oldies Night presented by the Pennsylvania Lottery
The PA Lottery presents Oldies Night featuring retro music and PA lottery coupons.

Kids run the show during Kids Weekend. Kids 12 and under will receive a Free Tomahawks toothbrush.

Help out local shelters by tossing packages of new, unused underwear onto the ice after the Tomahawks score their first goal.

The annual charity game between police and fire/ems will raise money for the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania. The second set of Tomahawks player cards will be given out.
Friday, March 29 (7:30 p.m.) vs. WB/Scranton - Fan Appreciation/Racing Weekend presented by Jennerstown Speedway
The Tomahawks say thank you to their fans with the first night of Fan Appreciation. The team will wear specialty fan-designed jerseys all weekend long. Additionally, Jennerstown Speedway will present Racing Night.
Saturday, March 30 (7:00 p.m.) vs. WB/Scranton - Fan Appreciation presented by UPMC Health Plan
Prizes galore will be given out as we close the book on the regular season.
Hockey returns to Johnstown Friday, Aug. 31 (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday, Sept. 1 (2 p.m.) when the Tomahawks host the NA3HL's Binghamton Jr. Senators for two preseason contests at North Central Recreation Center in Ebensburg. Admission is free for both games.
The nation's most elite hockey players converge on Johnstown Friday, Sept. 7 (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday, Sept. 8 (3 p.m.) when Johnstown hosts Team USA in a two-game series at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA. Reserved seating tickets for the general public is just $7 and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or by visiting the 1ST SUMMIT ARENA Box Office.
