Titans Travel to Sioux Falls for Conference Championship

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Titans and Sioux Falls Storm will battle for the United Conference Championship for the fourth season in a row on Saturday, July 16. In the past three conference championship meetings, Sioux Falls (15-1) has advanced and gone on to win the Indoor Football League United Bowl. The Titans come into the matchup riding an 8 game winning streak, 2nd behind the Storm, who come into the game on an 11 game winning streak. This will be the fourth meeting between these two teams this season. The Titans handed the Storm their only loss of the season in Cedar Rapids back on March 26th, by a score of 60-57. The Storm defeated the Cedar Rapids both times the Titans made the trip to Sioux Falls. The Titans enter the contest coming off the team's first ever home playoff victory, defeating Wichita Falls 66-36. The Titans defense led the way finishing with 46 tackles overall, along with interceptions by Nate Lindsay (2) and Timothy Bennett. The Nighthawks were held to just 28 yards on the ground. On the offensive side of the ball, Titans quarterback Dylan Favre had one of his best performances of the year finishing with 235 passing yards and six passing touchdowns. Favre also added 54 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Wide receiver Ryan Balentine had a career night scoring four touchdowns in the first half. He finished the night raking in seven passes for 124 yards. The Storm, who have not played a game since June 18th are led by quarterback Lorenzo Brown who completed 10 passes for 135 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Brown showed his athletic ability adding 30 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Sioux Falls regular season finale 59-35 win over the Spokane Empire. The Storm defense, led by linebacker Tyler Knight finished that contest with six interceptions. The winner of tomorrow's game, which is scheduled for a 7:05pm kickoff in Sioux Falls, will advance to the 2016 United Bowl to face the winner of the Intense Conference Championship, between the Spokane Empire and Nebraska Danger.
