St. John's Edge News Release
Kitchener, ON - The St. John's Edge (18-11) faltered in the final moments to the KW Titans (5-21) 114-111 Wednesday evening at the Aud. The Edge, who led by 14 points in the second quarter, couldn't get a handle on the Titans in the second half of the game even with a stellar 39-point performance by Charles Hinkle.
Player Performance
St. John's Edge:
Charles Hinkle led the Edge and the floor with 39 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Veteran Carl English put up 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists as he continues to pour on the offense. At the four-game mark, Ryan Reid has shown his value as he was third in Edge scoring, finishing with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists.
Coron Williams shook off the rust in just his second game back from injury by chipping in with 14 points, 5 assists, 1 rebound and a steal in 23 minutes of play.
KW Titans:
The Titans were led by Ed Horton and his 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Tramar Sutherland chipped in with 21 points of his own in the victory. Derek Hall produced a double-double of 15 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists in 39 minutes of action.
The victory is only number 5 on the season for the Titans, with 3 of those being against the Edge.
Inside the Numbers:
St. John's went 41-for-84 (48.8 percent) from field-goal territory while hitting 16-for-20 (80 percent) of their free throws.
The Titans went 10-for-21 (47.3 percent) from three-point territory while getting 52 points from the paint.
