
Titans Take Down Five-Time IFL Champs

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Titans (3-2) handed the five-time reigning Indoor Football League champion Sioux Falls Storm (4-1) their first loss, 60-57, Saturday night in Cedar Rapids.
Titans signal caller Dylan Favre had a Player of the Week performance, completing 21 of 26 passes for 190 yards and four touchdowns. Adding to his passing accolades, Favre added 35 rushing yards and another three touchdowns on the ground.
Sioux Falls quarterback Lorenzo Brown completed 10 of 17 passes for 123 and five touchdowns. Brown was also a force on the ground, carrying the ball eight times for 36 yards.
Jared Elmore had his best game of his first season with the Titans, catching nine passes for 80 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair of over-the-wall catches. Ryan Balentine added 50 receiving yards and one touchdown while Tank Thomas added 27 yards in his first game back from injury.
Storm wide receiver, and Candian Football League veteran, Korey Williams had his best game of the season, notching five receptions for 91 yards and four touchdowns.
Linebacker Niko Sierra anchored the Cedar Rapids defense, recording 12 stops. Indoor football newcomer Devin Ghafoor made his signature statement of the season, intercepting Brown with five seconds left in the contest to secure the win for Cedar Rapids.
Sioux Falls defensive back Matt Hermanson led the visiting team in tackles (12) while IFL all-time tackles leader Tyler Knight added nine stops.
The Titans will stay at the US Cellular Center next weekend, playing the Green Bay Blizzard for the second time this season. In the first contest between the two teams, the Titans defeated the Blizzard 39-15 on February 20 in Cedar Rapids. Kickoff for next Saturday's game is slated for 7:05 p.m.
