The Danbury Titans and Brewster Bulldogs met for three games this weekend with Thursday and Saturday night's games hosted by Danbury and Friday's affair in Brewster. The weekend was highlighted by Tyler Gjurich's seven goals and the return of Tim Richter to Danbury, along with the loan of goaltender Alex Vazzano to Louisiana of the SPHL and promotion of Phil Bronner to Elmira of the ECHL. The Titans secured 6 of a possible 9 points and remain in second place in the Federal Hockey League with 30 points.

Danbury began the weekend looking for a sweep over the last place Bulldogs after losing to Port Huron in their last game. Brewster, on the other hand, entered the weekend with only three wins on the season, two of them against the Titans. They would improve that mark to three wins over Danbury as Marcus Mitchell scored with under 3 minutes to go in the third period to lead his team to a 4-3 victory. Tyler Gjurich scored twice and had an assist as well in the losing effort. It was first time this season that Danbury had lost two in a row.

Recovering from the lackluster effort, coach Phil Esposito re-energized his team and they responded with force, scoring five times in the first period of Friday's game in New York on their way to a dominating 11-3 victory. Special teams led the way for Danbury, as the team scored twice on the power play and twice shorthanded. Tyler Gjurich recorded his fourth hat trick of the season to pull into a tie for the league lead in points. Dean Yakura had a game not soon forgotten with two goals and five assists, and his seven points tied for the league lead for one game. Mike Peerless, picked up off waivers earlier in the day recorded the victory over his former team, making 23 saves to record his first win as a Titan.

With the shellacking fresh in their minds, Danbury entered Saturday's game looking to build on their momentum. Tim Richter made his debut as a Titan and did not disappoint, recording a hat trick as Danbury cruised to a 5-1 win. Tyler Gjurich scored twice and Nick Niedert recorded the win. For Gjurich, his production catapulted him into the lead for scoring with 19 goals and a tie for the league lead in points with 30. Dean Yakura and Ryan Patsch are now third and fourth in the league in scoring with 26 and 25 points respectively.

Danbury will be in action with two games next weekend. On Saturday, December 19th, Danbury will host the first place Danville Dashers at 7:35pm. Sunday, the Titans will take it outside against the Brewster Bulldogs at the Brewster Ice Arena's outdoor rink. Faceoff is scheduled for 5:05pm and fans are encouraged to dress warmly. Tickets for Saturday's game can still be purchased by calling 844-DT-HOCKEY.
