
Titans Add Veteran IFL Coach to 2013 Coaching Staff

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA: Titans head coach Mark Stoute announced Monday that veteran Indoor Football League coach, Sean Ponder will serve as the team's assistant head coach for the 2013 season.
Ponder has 13 years of coaching experience at the professional level, nine years as a head coach. His experience comes from both the Arena Football League and the Indoor Football League. Ponder has spent time with the Fairbanks Grizzlies, Omaha Beef, and most recently the Everett Raptors for the past two seasons.
Along with his coaching experience, Ponder was a former college football quarterback at Emporia State where he earned NCAA Div II All American honors to go along with two years of professional football playing experience. As a coach, Ponder has sent 42 players to the AFL, CFL and NFL combined with eight playoff appearances and four division championships.
To go along with coach Ponder's on field accomplishments, he is also heavily involved in supporting local community programs and charities. Coach Ponder has also been a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for over 21 years.
KING lll, ABBOTT RETURN TO TITANS OFFENSE
The Titans re-signed two key veterans on the offensive side of the ball, announcing that both WR Johnnie King lll and OL Courtney Abbott would return to the team in 2013. Abbott split time between Cedar Rapids and Allen last season while King lll joined the Titans late in the season after beginning the first part of the 2012 season with the Milwaukee Mustangs of the AFL.
The Titans begin their 2nd season in the IFL at Mediacom Field inside the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena this February. Season tickets are now on sale and are available at www.cedarrapidstitans.com.
