Greeneville Astros News Release

GREENEVILLE, TN - The Greeneville Astros were unable to get a win against the Princeton Devil Rays over the 3-game series as they fell again on Monday night 10-4. The Astros got on the board first with an RBI single in the 1st inning by 1B Antonio Garcia, and things were looking good for them with P Sergio Severino seemingly striking out everybody early on. However, the tides turned in a huge 4th inning for the Devil Rays as they brought home 5 runs to take a 5-1 lead. The Astros looked like they were going to bounce back when SS Timmy Johnson hit his first career HR in the 5th inning to bring the Astros within 2 runs, but the Devil Rays never cooled off. 3B Matt Devins and C Steve Pickerell were standouts as each player had 3 RBI on the night for the Rays.

The Astros will travel to Bluefield and Princeton over the next week. They return to Pioneer Park on Tuesday August 9, 2005 when they face the Burlington Indians for the first time this season. Just like every Tuesday home game, that night will be Dollar Dog Night.

The Astros office is open Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm. It is located in the new administrative building adjacent to the front gate entrance. The Greeneville Astros are the Appalachian League affiliate of the Houston Astros. For more information on the Astros, visit www.greenevilleastros.com or call (423) 638-0411.
