
Tim McGraw & Friends To Kick Off Kats' 2006 Season

NASHVILLE (Nov. 17, 2005) - Nashville Kats majority owner K.S. "Bud" Adams, Jr., has announced that award-winning artist and Kats co-owner Tim McGraw will kick off the team's 2006 season with an exclusive concert for Kats season ticket holders and partners. The concert, which will feature McGraw and surprise performances by some of his best friends in the music industry, will take place on Fri., Jan. 20, at the Gaylord Entertainment Center.
McGraw, who joined the Kats ownership group last year, also opened the team's 2005 season with a concert last January. This year's show, which will be titled "Tim McGraw & Friends", will feature several surprise guests. Fans who purchase season tickets will sit in their same seats for the concert. Season ticket packages start at $45.
"This is an exciting way to kick off the 2006 season for our fans," said Adams. "We are all looking forward to a great show and a great season."
Collectively, McGraw's achievements are as remarkable as they are numerous: nine albums spawning 25 #1 singles and selling 33 million copies, tours that are consistent financial and entertainment successes and scores of awards, including a 2001 CMA Entertainer of the Year nod, two Grammy Awards and the 2004 People's Choice Award for Favorite Male Musical Performer. This year kicked off with a Grammy for Country Album of the Year for Live Like You Were Dying, as well as song nominations. His duet with Nelly, "Over and Over," stayed atop the urban charts for 12 weeks.
"The Kats had a good year in 2005, but 2006 will be even better," says McGraw. "Come join us for some good music and fun January 20."
The Nashville Kats begin training camp on Jan. 2, then kick off the 2006 season with a game at New York on Sat., Jan. 28. The Kats host the Columbus Destroyers in their home opener on Fri., Feb. 3, and all eight of the team's regular season home games will be played on Friday and Saturday nights this season.
