Moncton Magic News Release

The Moncton Magic traveled to Halifax to play the Hurricanes Thursday night for what started as a tight game but ended in an 86-101 defeat.

This late-season game was lead, on the Magic side, by Jason Calliste who ended the matchup with 18 points from 60% 3pt shooting; Calliste was named Player of the Game for those numbers.

Terry Thomas also shot well but couldn't do it all in the 4th, finishing with 9 rebounds and 16 points. Just behind was Juan Pattillo who had 8 rebounds and 15 points.

Billy White has the largest contribution to the home team's win; he dropped a 19-rebound 34-point double-double on Thursday.

Despite this tough loss the Moncton Magic have secured their spot in 2nd for the playoffs, and will likely face off against their NB rivals, the SJ Riptide, in the first round. Moncton will also have one more shot at Halifax next Thursday the 22nd, again in Nova Scotia.

The Magic now return home to play the Cape Breton Highlanders, this St Patrick's Day Saturday, 7:00 pm at the Moncton Coliseum. This is their second last home game of the season, the last being March 31st against the Riptide.
