
Tigers Fall in Final Contest to Conclude 2019 Season

Norwich, CT - Ryan Kreidler went 2-for-4 with two doubles in the contest, but the Connecticut Tigers (34-42) fell by a final score of 4-2 to the Lowell Spinners (42-34) in the final contest in 2019.
Connecticut got on the board first with an RBI single from Yoandy Rea to make it 1-0. Rea finished 2-for-4 with an RBI in the game.
Lowell answered in the top half of the third inning with a three-run inning off of Ted Stuka (Loss, 0-2). Marino Campana delivered a two-RBI single to put up the first two runs of the inning. Ceddanne Rafaela added to the lead in the frame with an RBI sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.
Lowell added to their lead in the top half of the fourth. Will Dalton brought home Alex Erro to make it 4-1. Dalton finished 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
The Tigers cut into the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Eric De La Rosa delivered an RBI sacrifice fly to make it 4-2. However, the Spinners were able to hang on to the lead late.
Osvaldo De La Rosa (Hold, 2), Ryan Fernandez (Win, 4-1) and Kris Jackson (Save, 9) combined to pitch a scoreless final three frames for the Spinners.
De La Rosa and Jackson totaled a strikeout in the contest while Fernandez surrendered a hit in his one inning of work.
Bryce Tassin and Austin Anderson pitched a scorless final 3.1 inning to close out the contest for the Tigers. Tassin pitched 2.1 innings with four strikeouts and one hit allowed with no runs.
We thank all the people who have been a part of the 2019 season, and the Connecticut Tigers conclude the 2019 season with a mark of 34-42.
