Tigers and Jammers Postponed

NORWICH-The Connecticut Tigers and Jamestown Jammers were postponed due to rain on Saturday night. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon beginning at 3:05 p.m.

The Connecticut Tigers Trucker Hat give away for the first 1,000 fans in attendance will be moved to Sunday. This is in addition to the Connecticut Tigers Dog Bowl give away to the first 250 fans that bring their dogs to Sunday's game as part of the "Bark in the Park" festivities.

There will also be a pre-game appearance by former Red Sox player Bernie Carbo, who will sign autographs on the concourse from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Tigers will also host the "Sunday Funday" post-game activities with a catch on the field sponsored by Dick's Sporting Goods and running the bases sponsored by Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream.

TIGER TRACKS: The Tigers added C Timothy Remes from the GCL Tigers before the rain out. Remes, a non-drafted free agent signing out of Santa Fe College in 2012, hit .221 with one home run and 10 RBIs for the GCL Tigers.

The Tigers and Jammers play a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at 3:05 p.m. RHP Jake Esch (3-0, 3.44) will get the start for the Jammers in game one against the RHP Edgar De La Rosa (3-1, 2.50) for the Tigers. RHP Matt Milroy (1-2, 4.50) starts for the Jammers in game two against RHP Endrys Briceno (2-2, 5.67) for the Tigers. The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play in the New York-Penn League. The Tigers saw a 23% increase in attendance in 2011, (the 4th highest in Minor League Baseball), and are in their 3rd season at Dodd Stadium. Tickets are now on sale!
