Tierre Brown Returning to Lowgators

GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 14, 2003) – The North Charleston Lowgators have re-acquired point guard Tierre Brown following the completion of his 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA, according to National Basketball Development League Executive Director Karl Hicks.

Lowgators Head Coach Doug Marty said the 6-foot-2, 189-pound Brown is expected to be wearing his familiar number 99 uniform jersey tonight when North Charleston plays host to the Roanoke Dazzle. Tip off is 7 p.m. ET at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Brown, a first-team All-NBDL choice as voted by the league's eight head coaches, was also the league's February player of the month. Before signing with Cleveland, the McNeese State University ('01) product started and played in 41 games for the Lowgators. He averaged 27.8 minutes, 15.4 points, 4.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds.

In five games with the Cavs, Brown averaged 5.4 minutes, 1.2 points and 1.4 assists.

To make room for Brown on the Lowgators roster, Marty released guard Courtney Eldridge, who averaged 12.3 minutes, 1.0 points and 1.6 assists for the Lowgators through 16 games (5 starts).
