Chesapeake Tide News Release

(Upper Marlboro, Maryland) - The Chesapeake Tide wrapped up it's third and ultimately most successful open tryout to date, Saturday November 11, where they signed an additional four players to their inaugural spring 2007 training camp. Over 100 local players showcased their talents at the SoccerDome in Jessup, Maryland. Because of the high turnout and talent density, Tide coaches agreed on a series of invitational tryouts beginning December 9, 2006. Forty players from the last open tryout have been invited in addition to those already signed to training camp. Sean Chisley, Aaron Dada, Ronald Gamble and Robert Henning are the newest members to the Tide training camp.

"We're very excited about the newest members of our training camp roster, we were so pleasantly surprised by the turnout at our last open tryout that we organized an invitational to take a closer look at some of the guys who showed potential," said Tide general manager Jeff Golas, "I think that really speaks volumes about the guys we've already signed to training camp."

Sean Chisley, a DC native with professional football in his blood, brings extensive professional experience to the Tide. Chisley graduated from Calvin Coolidge Senior High where he was a three-sport letter winner in basketball, baseball and football, noted as a "Diamond in the Rough" by the Washington Post for his sporting contributions.

One of eight children, Chisley comes from a family of former and present athletes with experience ranging from Arena Football II, the USFL (United States Football League) and the NFL. Chisley continued his education and football career when he attended the University of the District of Columbia.

He began his professional career with the AFL, playing for the Norfolk Nighthawks in 2000, the Richmond Speed in 2001 and future stints with the River City Loco-motives, and the Albany Firebirds practice squad. Chisley used his status as a professional athlete to mentor young people and encourage troubled youth.

Another Old Mill High School graduate, Aaron Dada joins his fellow Patriot Jason Galloway on the Tide training camp roster. As a high school standout, Dada earned All-County honors and won a regional championship as a senior captain.

Dada carried his love for football to The Catholic University of America where he received rookie of the year honors in 2003, and earned the Anthony Bottoni team leadership award and Most Valuable Player honor as a senior captain in 2004.

When asked was he hopes to bring to the team, Dada responded, "Hopefully I can bring intensity and leadership. Most people who have played with me know that on the snap, I go full speed and I expect everyone on my team to be doing the same."

Robert Henning brings more post-collegiate football experience to the Tide. A Prince Frederick resident, Henning comes to the Tide as a standout football player. During his tenure at Calvert High school, Henning helped lead his team to a Maryland 3A championship in 2000, while also earning first-team all-conference honors as a junior and a senior.

Football carried him to Fairmont State University, where he was a four-year starter and a two time first team all-conference for the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC).

Henning is currently wrapping up his own season as a coach for the Huntington High school Hurricanes, where he coaches the freshman team O-line and D-line who went 10-0 this year.

Ron Gamble rounds out the latest four to be added to the Chesapeake Tide training camp. A current Anne Arundel County police officer, Gamble is very involved with his community and hopes that the Tide will be another outlet to continue community service.

A graduate from the University of Connecticut, Gamble is no stranger to heavy competition. He also competes as a heavy weight boxer and is a member of the Chesapeake Christian Fellowship in Edgewater, Maryland.

Having such an extensive background serving his community, Gamble is optimistic the local community will embrace the Tide. "Hopefully the community will get behind us once they see the level of athletic performers," said Gamble.
