Tide Lose First Home Game to Seacoast

Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide News Release


OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME- The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide suffered their first home loss of the season at The Ballpark at the hands of the Seacoast Mavericks (3-2). The Tide rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the bottom of the 6th inning when Shane Bussey (Freshman, Univ. of Maine) doubled to left field and drove in one run to tie the game.

Mavericks' pitcher Brad Applin (Sophomore, Univ of Rhode Island) then loaded the bases and walked the 4th batter to give the Tide the one run lead to make it 3-2. However, Mavericks Left Fielder James Nervant (sophomore, Notre Dame), who went 2-4 with 2 singles, drove in what ended up being the winning run in the top of the 7th inning putting the Mavericks ahead 4-3.

The Tide rallied late but Mavericks pitcher Josh Jacques (Sophomore, East Tenn State) pitched two solid innings with 4 strikeouts to end the game and the Tides hopes of another comeback win at home.

Raging Tide pitcher Ryan Otero (sophomore, Univ of Maine) pitched five strong innings giving up two earned runs. Left Fielder Matt Pagano (Sophomore, Marist College) went 2-4 with 1 RBI. The Tide will return home Tuesday, June 18th to face the Pittsfield Suns (2-1) for a 7pm start.
