Tickets Still Available For This Weekend's Ice Blast

(Saginaw, MI) The Saginaw Spirit will host the Plymouth Whalers and Windsor Spitfires this weekend - Friday February 12 and Saturday February 13 - for the fourth annual Saginaw Spirit ICE BLAST! Great seats are still available for the games, both of which feature an outdoor heated tent with live entertainment with some of the area's most popular bands PLUS great drink specials with bottles of Bud and Bud Light available from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for only $2.00 each!

The outdoor festivities are presented by PRIDE in Saginaw with support from your local Meijer Stores, Spence Brothers, Bud Light and local distributor Fabiano Brothers, Citizen's Bank and The Dow Event Center.

It's fun for the whole family however, with kid's games, inflatables and other activities taking place in Unity Hall from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Check out the scheduled ICE BLAST exhibits and activity booths set up in the tent and at The Dow Event Center on both nights - Saginaw's Children Zoo at Celebration Square, CAN Council, Mid-Michigan Children's Museum, the Public Libraries of Saginaw, Saginaw Co Great Start Collaborative Parent Coalition, Rainbow Children's Center and PRIDE in Saginaw!

FRIDAY: The Spirit host cross-state rival the Plymouth Whalers on Friday, February 12 at 7:11 PM. Kick off the weekend in the heated outdoor tent while listening to the tune of Suite44! The tent also features food from Savor...by SMG, El Farolito's, and Jet's Pizza!

SATURDAY: The defending CHL Memorial Cup Champions the Windsor Spitfires are in town on Saturday, February 13 to take on the Spirit at 7:11 PM. Marty Viers and the Musicdoctors will be performing in the heated outdoor tent, plus fans can take part in THE CHILI COOKOFF, brought to you by the Downtown Saginaw Farmer's Market. The Junction, The Log Cabin, Famous Dave's, Tim Horton's, El Farolito's and Maria's Mexican Restaurant will be vying for the title of ICE BLAST's best chili. It's up to the fans to decide, so place your vote Saturday in the tent from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The tent also features food from Savor...by SMG, El Farolito's, and Jet's Pizza! There is action outside of The Dow Event Center as well, with the Mid-Michigan Children's Museum offering a discount of $1.00 off admission on Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13 to any fan showing any Spirit ticket dated for the 2009-2010 season! The Children's Museum is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM both days.

The Saginaw Children's Zoo at Celebration Square will be putting their winter animals on display for their annual Artic Zoo Fest from noon to 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 13. The Artic Zoo Fest also features a scavenger hunt, chainsaw woodcarving demonstrations and snow shoeing from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free, so head down to Celebration Square Saturday!
