Bloomington Thunder News Release
PEORIA - The Bloomington Thunder ended a four-game winning streak as the Peoria Rivermen bounced back for a 3-0 win on Sunday at Carver Arena.
After a scoreless first period, the Rivermen broke onto the scoreboard first as Jeremiah Ketts took a pass in the slot from Nick Prochkow and tallied his first goal past the glove of Thunder goalie Max Strang with just 1:17 gone in the middle chapter. Prockhow scored on a 4-on-3 power play a little more than five minutes later with his blast from the slot that Strang caught, but the momentum of the shot briefly allowed the mitt to enter the top right corner of the goal for the score. The Thunder killed three 5-on-3 power plays in the final period, but Taylor Larsen set the final score with an empty net goal with 24 seconds left.
Kyle Rank earned the 35-save shutout while Max Strang stopped 29 shots in the loss.
The Thunder continue the road trip with games at 6:30 p.m. Central on Friday and Saturday in Columbus, Ga. The Thunder then return for another home-and-home set with the Rivermen with Bloomington hosting the Friday, January 10 game at 7:05 p.m. All road games are shown at Six Strings, 524 N.
