Thunder Training Camp Report: February 25
February 25, 2014 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Portland Thunder News Release
PORTLAND, OR - The Portland Thunder welcomed local media to view the first day of full-pad drills in training camp, and the team put on a show.
Both the defense and offense put their intensity on display, with some skirmishes erupting along the defensive and offensive lines and plenty of scrapping for the ball among the secondary and wide receivers.
"That first practice in pads was intense - I liked it," said two-time ArenaBowl champion Antron Dillon. "It's still a learning experience, but I think we have enough talent out here to compete. Coming from a veteran team in Arizona, I'm seeing the camaraderie and the talent here and I can see us going head-to-head with them."
Thunder Training Camp practices will continue to be open to the public and the media each day from 12-2 p.m. through Friday, Feb. 28. Practices from March 3-8 will be open as well.
The Portland Thunder will kick off its inaugural season at the Moda Center on Monday, March 17th when they take on the San Jose SaberCats. Season tickets are available for purchase starting as low as $99 by calling 503-773-4AFL or by visiting www.portlandthunder.com.
