
Thunder to Host Wyoming in Final Home Game of Season

OREM, Utah - The Utah Valley Thunder will play their final home game of the season Saturday, June 27, when they host the Wyoming Cavalry (11-1) in American Indoor Football Association action. Kick off is set for 7 p.m. The Thunder are 5-1 at home this year. All three of Utah Valley's losses have come to Wyoming, while Wyoming's only loss has come to Utah Valley. The Thunder beat the Ogden Knights 69-45 two weeks ago, while the Cavalry have won five straight games, including a 56-9 win over New Mexico last week. Wyoming ranks first in the league in scoring (61.0) and fewest points allowed (27.8), while Utah Valley is third in scoring (51.7) and ninth in fewest points allowed (43). Utah Valley quarterback Mike Affleck is second in the league in yards passing with 2,738 yards and 52 touchdowns while Wyoming quarterback Matt Strand is third in yards passing with 2,619 yards and 63 touchdowns. Affleck, however, has 15 rushing touchdowns and Strand has zero. The Thunder will close out the regular season July 6 when they travel to New Mexico. They will open the AIFA playoffs at Wyoming in mid July. Date and time have yet to be determined.
