
Thunder Swept in Double Header

Harlingen, Texas - the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings completed the series and double header sweep over the McAllen Thunder (16-32) by a score of 5-0 on Friday night at Harlingen Field.
Polanco pitched lights out for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings. The McAllen Thunder managed just one hit off the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his seven innings of work.
Leivi Ventura racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Frank James (3-4) was on the wrong end of the decision with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked five, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
The Thunder will continue their road trip in San Angelo as the will face the Colts in a two-game series at Foster Field on Saturday night with the first pitch scheduled at 7:05 pm.
