McAllen, TX - Two of the first signees for the North American League's newest team the McAllen Thunder should feel right at home and they also should be recognized by Edinburg Roadrunners followers.

Thunder field manager Matt Stark Wednesday announced that infielder Wilson Bautista and outfielder Ambiorix Concepcion, who were members of the Roadrunners in 2010, are among those who have signed contracts to play for the Thunder.

Bautista, for the Roadrunners in 2010, hit at a .301 pace. He played in 76 games, had 49 RBIs, seven home runs and 34 doubles. He stole base 14 times. He formerly played in the New York Mets organization, playing in AAA ball. In 2009, he hit .302 for Bridgeport in the Atlanta Braves organization.

Stark said that although it has been a late situation in putting the team and players together, he believes he is signing some excellent players for the Thunder. He assured McAllen baseball followers that he expects the Thunder to be a contender in the new NAL.

The Thunder will play their first game on the road May 25 in San Angelo and will make their first valley appearance on Sunday, May 29 in Harlingen against the White Wings.
