Mahoning Valley Thunder News Release

BOARDMAN, OH. - In conjunction with the arenafootball2 League Office, the Mahoning Valley Thunder is pleased to announce that Defensive Back Yohance Buchanan has been assigned to the 2008 Thunder roster. This will be Buchanan's (6'0, 205) first year playing in the af2.

A native of Atlanta, GA. Buchanan was a high school All-American at Douglass High where he was rated by rivals50.com as the No.1 safety prospect in the nation. Buchanan had scholarship offers from Clemson, Michigan and Alabama before signing with Florida State University.

In two seasons with the Seminoles, Buchanan saw action in 16 games, recording eight tackles and forcing a fumble. During his freshman season, Buchanan was one of only seven true freshmen to earn playing time for a team that finished as ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) Champions and earned a spot in the BCS National Championship game.

THUNDER HEAD COACH MIKE SAYS:

"Yohance is an exceptional athlete. With his speed, we can match him up one on one with just about anyone on the field. He has big game experience coming from FSU, so we'll expect for him to be one of our leaders. We expect him to make an immediate impact not only in our secondary, but the entire defense."

The Mahoning Valley Thunder opens the season at home Saturday March 29th on Cortland Banks Field inside the Chevrolet Centre. Be a part of all the action in 2008 as the Thunder continues their climb towards the ArenaCup9 Championship. Season ticket prices start as low as $96 and are on sale now. Group Outings and Birthday Parties for individual games also available. For more information call the Thunder Offices at 330.758.4af2 (4232).
