McAllen, Texas---- Schedule Magnets, Special Event Nights and more home games are just the start of an exciting summer at Edinburg Baseball Stadium, as the McAllen Thunder announced today their promotional calendar for their 32-game home schedule in 2012.
The Home Opener will see Schedule Magnets being given away to the first 1,000 fans thru the gate courtesy of Cricket on Tuesday, June 5. It also marks the first of 4-RC Cola Twofer Tuesdays, where fans can purchase buy one get one free tickets, two dollar beer, soda and selected food items.
Nightly promotions will also be a big part of the summer - including six Black Iguana Margarita Mondays, eight RGV Food Bank Sunday Nights where four cans of food get you a free general admission ticket and three Thirsty Thursdays.
This season the Thunder is partnering with local businesses for a special community event weekend on June 8, 9 and 10 as we host the Inaugural Energy Initiative Weekend. This three day community event will see different members of the energy community involved in sharing their specific expertise with the fans at the ballpark.
The Annual Independence Day Fireworks Show is scheduled for Tuesday, July 3rd, with a fireworks extravaganza. The Thunder will play the Edinburg Roadrunners at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
Farm Bureau Insurance customers will get two free admission tickets when they show proof of FBI coverage to any Thunder home game(11-games) during the month of August. The complete promotional schedule can be found online at mcallenthunder.com.

The Thunder is in their 2nd season of professional baseball and will open up their home 2012 ULB season on Tuesday, June 5 versus Abilene Prairie Dogs. Season Tickets, Family Passes and group nights for Thunder games are available at 956-380-6256.
