Mahoning Valley Thunder News Release
BOARDMAN, OH. - The Mahoning Valley Thunder Opening Night roster has been approved by the arenafootball2 League Office. Following last Saturday's final training camp practice, Head Coach Mike Hold trimmed the Mahoning Valley roster down to the league mandated 22 players. Of the 22 players on the current roster, 19 will dress for Saturday Night's season opener at the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown. The three remaining players will spend the week on the teams practice squad.
HEAD COACH MIKE HOLD:
"There's not a coach in the country that enjoys cut-down day. It's never easy to let anyone go. In our case, this year was tougher then most because of the great competition we had in camp. We made some tough decisions, and ultimately let guys go who I know can play in this league. But, at the end of the day we feel like we did what was best for the team and we're excited about the talent, competitiveness and character of the men who make up our final 22."

"Injured Reserved" is for players who are injured and do not count towards the mandated 22 player roster. In order to add any player to the 22-man roster, an open roster spot must become available through injury, team suspension or re-assignment. For the 19-man active game roster, Coach Hold must submit his inactive list one hour prior to kickoff. The inactive list is subject to change from week to week.
The Mahoning Valley Thunder opens the season at home Saturday March 29th on Cortland Banks Field inside the Chevrolet Centre.
