Rockford Thunder News Release
In the last game of the series against the Washington Glory (5-3), the Rockford Thunder (5-3) sat through several rain delays, and took game four, 2-0, to even the series at 2-2. Offense for the team was carried by home runs from catcher Savannah Brown and shortstop Jamie Davison, the first of the season for each. Brown also homered Friday night for Team NPF in an exhibition against the USA national team. With two outs in the bottom of the second inning, Brown opened the scoring with her home run to deep left field. Davison then led off the next inning with her first slam of the year. Thunder pitcher Megan Brown (2-0) got the complete game shutout and threw five strikeouts. Glory hurler Desiree Serrano (1-2) gave up two earned runs and five hits over six innings to earn the complete game for Washington. Shanna Diller, Sandy Vojik, Savannah Brown, and Davison each went 1-for-2 to lead the Thunder offense. Rockford plays next on Thursday against the Netherlands national team in the first of a four-game series. Game time is set for 6:35 pm and tickets start at just $4 for seniors and $5 for everyone else.
