BOARDMAN, OH.- In conjunction with the arenafootball2 League Office, the Mahoning Valley Thunder is pleased to announce that Fullback/Linebacker Patrick McCullough has been assigned to the team. McCullough (5'11, 265) is an af2 rookie.

McCullough, of Wyoming, MI. joins the Thunder after a stat-filled career at Mount Union College. As a Purple Raider, Patrick lettered in his final three seasons and played a key role in helping Mount Union win back to back Division III National Championships in 2005 and 2006.

As a member of the Purple Raiders Defensive Line, McCullough accounted for 190 total tackles, 40.5 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, and six fumble recoveries in his career. Following the 2007 season, accolades poured in for McCullough. Playing for a defense that ranked second in the nation, Patrick received the OAC (Ohio Athletic Conference) Paul Hoernemann Award honoring the conference's top defensive lineman. McCullough was selected to the AP Little All-American Team, D3football.com All-American Team, ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Division District 4 All-Region Team and was also named All-North Region Defensive Player of the Year.

THUNDER HEAD COACH MIKE HOLD SAYS:

"Patrick is a tough, athletic guy who plays with a lot of passion. We're thrilled to have him with the Thunder. He played along the interior of the defensive line in college but we see him as a Linebacker with us, who can also contribute as a blocking back if need be. Throughout his college career he showed the ability to find the football sideline to sideline, we're hopeful that he'll continue to be an impact player as a member of the Thunder."

The Mahoning Valley Thunder opens the season at home Saturday March 29th on Cortland Banks Field inside the Chevrolet Centre. Be a part of all the action in 2008 as the Thunder continues their climb towards the ArenaCup9 Championship. Season ticket prices start as low as $96 and are on sale now. Group Outings and Birthday Parties for individual games also available. For more information call the Thunder Offices at 330.758.4af2 (4232).
