Thunder Add WR Hollis Moore
December 15, 2014 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Portland Thunder News Release
PORTLAND- The Portland Thunder have acquired rookie WR Hollis Moore, announced Head Coach Mike Hohensee on Monday.
"Hollis has a unique ability to catch while covered, because he plays with length," said Hohensee. "That skill set easily makes him a red zone threat."
Moore (6-3, 195, Lane) will enter his first season in the Arena Football League and first in a Thunder uniform. Hollis joins following a standout senior season for the Lane College Dragons of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NCAA D-II).
Hollis began his college career in 2009 with the Coahoma Community College Tigers (JuCo) before transferring to Troy in 2011. Moore played two seasons at CCC, and was named 1st team AllState both years while averaging more than 14.3 yards per catch during that time. Hollis also received the James H. Gray MVP award for his performance in the Mississippi Junior College All-Star Classic in 2010. Moore transferred to LaneCollege in 2012, where he continued to flourish. In just seven games for the Dragons, Hollis made 41 receptions, for 543 yards, and seven scores in 2012.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Moore prepped at nearby Whitehaven HS.
