Here are three things to know about this weekend's Eastern Conference Semifinal match:
1.) Matchday Rundown
Saturday night is predicted to be one of the chilliest matches of the season. With temperatures projected to dip as low as 30 degrees after the sun goes down, be sure to bundle up on your way to First Tennessee Park. All USL-branded merchandise is on sale for 50% off including sweatshirts so you can stay warm and sport gold and blue at the same time. The merch deals continue with $25 grab bags which were originally priced at $50. Additionally, fan friendly pricing is still going on, and fans can enjoy 32oz. sodas for $2 and draft beer for $5.
2.) Playoff Picture
With just three weeks remaining, eight teams are left in the USL Championship Playoffs. The Eastern Conference hasn't seen any major upsets as teams one through four remain in Pittsburgh Riverhounds FC, Nashville SC, Louisville City and Indy Eleven. The winner of Saturday night's matchup at First Tennessee Park will advance to the Eastern Conference Final and take on the winner of Pittsburgh and LouCity. On the other side of the bracket, the two and three seeds fell by the hands six and seven, respectively. Regular season title winner Phoenix Rising FC remains, accompanied by No. 4 Real Salt Lake, No. 6 El Paso Locomotive and No. 7 Sacramento Republic.
3.) Defensive Showdown
Saturday is sure to be a defensive duel. The stats show that Nashville SC and Indy Eleven are two of the best, if not the best, defensive teams in the entire league. The teams rank last and second-to-last in goals allowed with Nashville conceding just 27 and Indy conceding 29 in 2019. In clean sheets, both rank in the top four in the league with 16 and 14 shutouts, respectively. However, Nashville SC also has a top-ranked offense complement its strong defense. The Boys in Gold have scored 62 goals which is good enough for third most in the East compared to Indy's 49. Nashville SC also has the league's second-highest scorer in Daniel RÃÂos who has 21 goals in 2019.
