Three Teams Can Clinch Playoff Berths In Week 16

NEW YORK - The Columbus Destroyers (6-8), Los Angeles Avengers (8-6), and Philadelphia Soul (6-8) can clinch playoff berths this weekend as only four playoff positions remain in the Mitsubishi Motors Drive to ArenaBowl XXI New Orleans.

Columbus and Philadelphia both control their own playoff destiny. Each team needs to win this weekend to clinch a National Conference playoff spot but only one will, as the Soul host the Destroyers on Saturday, June 16. The Kansas City Brigade can help the Avengers earn the team's fourth trip to the playoffs on Saturday by defeating the Nashville Kats. But even without the Kats loss, Los Angeles clinches with a victory over Las Vegas this Sunday at the Staples Center.

Following is each team's postseason-clinching scenario for Week 16:

The CHICAGO RUSH clinch the Mitsubishi Motors Central Division and a first-round bye with the following scenario:

1) Chicago Rush win + Kansas City Brigade loss

The LOS ANGELES AVENGERS clinch an American Conference playoff spot with the following scenarios:

1) Los Angeles Avengers win

2) Nashville Kats loss

The SAN JOSE SABERCATS clinch the best record in the American Conference and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with the following scenario:

1) San Jose SaberCats win + Chicago Rush loss

The COLUMBUS DESTROYERS clinch a National Conference playoff spot with the following scenario:

1) Columbus Destroyers win

The PHILADELPHIA SOUL clinch a National Conference playoff spot with the following scenario:

1) Philadelphia Soul win

The DALLAS DESPERADOS clinch the best record in the National Conference and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with the following scenario:

1) Dallas Desperados win + Georgia Force loss
