Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide News Release
OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME - The Raging Tide have announced the signing of three players from UMass Lowell. Freshman pitcher, Raz Bracha, freshman first baseman, Trevor Fink, and junior infielder, Kelly Rooney, will all be making their way to Old Orchard Beach this summer.
Raz Bracha is a 6'4" pitcher from Irvine, CA. He joins the Riverhawks after being a three-year starter at Irvine High School. He was named the Defensive Player of the Year in 2011. Since joining UMass Lowell, Bracha has appeared in seven games, starting two. In those games he has gone 2-3 with a 4.70 ERA.
Fellow freshman Trevor Fink, is a first baseman out of Kalamazoo, MI. Although Fink has yet to play for the Riverhawks this year, he starred at Mattawan where he played three seasons on varsity. After hitting .500 during his sophomore season, opposing pitchers took notice. He was a SMAC West All Conference selection and played one whole season without committing any errors at first base.
Rounding out the crew from Lowell is junior infielder Kelly Rooney from Upton, MA. Rooney attended Nipmuc Regional High School. At Nipmuc, Rooney was named a Dual Valley Player of the Year while also being selected to the All-Conference and All-State Teams. The infielder has enjoyed a more expanded role each year for the Riverhawks and has currently started every game for the team this season.
The Raging Tide's home opener is on June 4th at 7pm at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach against the Nashua Silver Knights.
