Three Rattlers honored after road win at Boston

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Rattlers completed a sweep of the Major League Lacrosse awards for Week 4. Rattlers Casey Powell, Adam Doneger and Jake Coon were all honored for their performances last Saturday in Rochester's 18-17 overtime win against the Boston Cannons.

Attackman/midfielder Casey Powell was named the MLL Offensive Player of the Week for his personal-best eight-point night (4+4). His fourth goal was the game winner at 2:16 of overtime. His eight points tied the franchise's single-game record set by his brother Ryan last season. Casey Powell leads the team with 20 points (9+11) in four games.

Defenseman Adam Doneger was awarded the MLL Rookie of the Week. It was Doneger's two-point goal with 37 seconds left that tied the game at 17 and sent it to overtime. It was the rookie's first two-point goal of his career.

Goalie Jake Coon was named the MLL Defensive Player of the Week, following a 21-save effort against the Cannons. In his first start of the season, Coon faced 37 shots en route to his second win of the year for Rochester.

The Rochester Rattlers return to action this Friday, when they host the Baltimore Bayhawks at Bishop Kearney Field at 7:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast on News Talk 950 WROC and online at rochesterrattlers.com. The contest will also be televised on ESPN2 on Tuesday, July 1st at 3:00 p.m.
