Three Express Players Earn Postseason Recognition, Varsho Named 2026 Manager of the Year

Eau Claire, Wis. - The Eau Claire Express were well represented among this year's postseason award recipients, with three players and longtime field manager Dale Varsho earning recognition. Players recognized included Anthony Martinez (Bradley University), Jackson Niederwerder (Charleston Southern University), and Brock Adamson (Missouri State University).

Martinez was a big part of the Express offense this season, hitting .328 with 57 hits, 15 doubles, eight home runs and 33 RBI in 50 games. He finished the season with a 1.008 OPS, highlighting his impact at the plate.

Niederwerder was a key piece of the Express pitching staff throughout the 2026 season, finishing with a 5-1 record and a 1.82 ERA in 14 appearances. In 29.2 innings, he struck out 39 batters while allowing just six earned runs.

Adamson provided a consistent presence on the mound for the Express, posting a 3-0 record and a 2.08 ERA across 21 appearances. He recorded 41 strikeouts in 30.1 innings while allowing just seven earned runs.

Eau Claire Express Manager Dale Varsho was named 2026 Manager of the Year after leading the Express to a Northwoods League- best 46-22 record. Varsho guided the Express to the Second Half Championship in the Great Plains East Division, helping Eau Claire finish the regular season with the best overall record in the league.

The 2026 Manager of the Year honor marks Varsho's second time receiving the recognition, previously earning the award in 2010 when he led the team to the franchise's first Northwoods League Championship. Varsho has served as the Field Manager and Director of Operations since the team's inaugural season in 2005.
