Thomas leads Railers over Throwbacks
February 28, 2008 - Premier Basketball League (PBL)
Reading Railers News Release
Tayron Thomas' 4th quarter explosion and Lennox McCoy's clutch defense help lead the Railers to a 115-101 victory over the Chicago Throwbacks Thursday night at the Sovereign Center.
In what was an even game throughout, with a 76-68 Reading lead heading into the 4th, the Railers were able to pull ahead to a comfortable lead and never look back. Thomas' 10 4th quarter points helped get their largest lead of the game, 22, with a little over 3 minutes left in the game.
Chicago guard Steve Strong had 22 points heading into the final frame, but the stingy defense of Reading guard Lennox McCoy held him to 9 4th quarter points, a huge factor in the Railers' final quarter dominance.
The win marked the Rialers' third straight home victory, and their fourth in their last five games overall.
