Dubois County Bombers News Release

HUNTINGBURG, Ind. - The Dubois County Bombers host the Terre Haute Rex this weekend for a three-game series that will be filled with exciting, playoff-caliber baseball and some stirring specials.

Saturday, July 21, is a doubleheader. There are two 7-inning games, and the first starts at 6:15 p.m. at League Stadium. (Gates open at 6.)

There will be two-dollar draft beers all night (both games) as well as several contests whose prizes could include a souvenir baseball and a pen (to get autographs after the game) or two tickets to the Western Divisional Playoff Game on Tuesday, August 7.

The contests might include a dizzy bat race, Bombers trivia and other possible games.

Sunday's 6:15 p.m. game features a two-dollar discount on all tickets for Family Day. This means general admission tickets are three dollars, orange-backed seats are five, and red-backed are six.

But there's another reason to come out this weekend in addition to the contests, discounts and chances to win prizes.

This weekend could be a playoff preview. The Bombers won the Western Division in the first half with a record of 20-9. That distinction earned Dubois County the right to host a playoff game versus the second half Western Division winner.

Terre Haute has been the best team in the division in the second half thus far, and if the current standings hold, the Rex will be the Bombers' opponents for that game on August 7.

The winner will then travel to the Eastern Division winner for a playoff game August 9 before returning home for Game 2 of the Championship Series August 11 and Game 3 August 12 (if necessary).

So be sure to come out Saturday at 6:15, Sunday at 6:15, or both, to experience some quality baseball, excellent discounts and fun games.
