This Week in the CFL
October 19, 2017 - Canadian Football League (CFL) News Release
Week 18 starts in Calgary when the Saskatchewan Roughriders visit McMahon Stadium at 9 p.m. ET. The Stampeders are riding a 10-game winning streak at home while the Roughriders will be eyeing a victory that would clinch their first playoff berth since 2014.
Saturday has two games on the slate. First the Toronto Argonauts host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 4 p.m. ET. Both teams have secured playoff berths, but the Toronto Argonauts control their own destiny. If they win their final two games they clinch the East Division, while a Winnipeg victory would clinch a home playoff game for the Bombers, their first since 2011.
The late game on Saturday, features a West Division game with several playoff implications. At 10 p.m. ET the Edmonton Eskimos take on the BC Lions in Vancouver. Depending the outcome in Friday's game between Saskatchewan and Calgary, if Saskatchewan loses, BC would need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Edmonton, who still has a chance to host a playoff game, enters the game with a two-game winning streak.
To conclude Week 18, the Montreal Alouettes will play their final home game of the season versus the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at 1 p.m. ET. The Alouettes' three victories have all came at home this season, while the Tiger-Cats under June Jones are 4-3; those three losses have been by eight points or less.
