@TheX Returns for Season 2 Debut

August 8, 2019 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) - Chesapeake Bayhawks News Release

ANNAPOLIS, MD - The Chesapeake Bayhawks are excited to announce the return of their @TheX video series for its second season. This series, which debuted in 2018, covers various topics with Bayhawks' Owner Brendan Kelly. These topics range from the Chesapeake Bayhawks organization and its players, Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the Chesapeake Sports and Entertainment Group (CSEG) and its newest sub-company Legendary Sports Group (LSG), the Chesapeake Park initiative, and the lacrosse industry.

This episode of @TheX travels with Brendan Kelly as he flies to the childhood home of the Bayhawks' superstar attackman, Lyle Thompson. On the flight, Kelly talks with Thompson about what drove his passion for the game and started his road to owning a professional lacrosse organization today.

Kelly shares stories of his time as a lacrosse player as well as his affinity for the history of the United States Club Lacrosse Association (USCLA and also known as the Mount Washington Lacrosse Club) - an amateur field lacrosse team that was based out of Baltimore.

"There was so much rich history there in the USCLA," reflected Kelly. "I think it's so important to think about pro lacrosse being [around] even before the MLL."

The Bayhawks' owner also discusses his outlook on Major League Lacrosse and how he feels about the league and its future.

"The history of the MLL has been great," said Kelly. "It's like any growing business - you're going to have your ups and downs and growing pains. I think right now where the MLL is at with six teams and six owners and one vote is really the foundation to build for the future for pro lacrosse."
