Passing. Assists. Winning. These are all components of a basketball game. In the game of life, the London Lightning could not pass up an opportunity to assist The Sunshine Foundation in achieving their goal of making dreams for kids come true.

That is why on February 16th, the Lightning and the Sunshine Foundation are creating a very special evening for some London-area children who are living with severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses.

"Many of the kids we serve are sports fans or athletes themselves. It's great to have the London Lightning not only helping to support our mission, but also getting some kids and families involved in a fun night at the JLC," said Nancy Sutherland, Sunshine's National Executive Director.

Sunshine was founded in London 25 years ago. The London Lightning are in their first season. Experience and new-found success are sure to be a winning combination.

"The Lightning always strive to help in the community and we are especially looking forward to working with the Sunshine Foundation," explained Lightning GM Taylor Brown. "This is going to be a great event."

Thursday's game is at 7 pm at the John Labatt Centre. Doors open at 6 pm. London hosts Saint John that evening.
