Moncton's faint chance for a playoff berth was dealt a crushing blow with a 96-86 home loss Monday night to the Quebec Kebs. In the loss, Akeem Wright scored 21 points for the Magnetic Hill crew; while Michael Evans earned 18 points. Sylvania Watkins led all Miracles in rebounding with 12 boards.

As the Moncton Miracles' season winds down, each win is for pride and for the future. But they have to win - and a 106-97 loss to the Oshawa Power is not a win. Darrell Wonge finished the night with 25 points; while Akeem Wright added 19 and Boubacar Coly had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.

And on Saturday afternoon, the Miracles faced the Kebs again at PEPS. Even with 21 poins from Akeem Wright, including four 3-pointers, the Miracles fell for the 23rd time this season, losing to Quebec 93-82. Trayvon Lathan added 17 points and 14 rebounds; wihle Boubacar Coly had 13 more boards.

Could the Oshawa Power make a last-minute surge into the postseason? Well, a 107-96 victory Thursday evening against the Moncton Miracles helped considerably. Brandon Robinson cranked out 30 points and 12 rebounds for Oshawa in the victory; Morgan Lewis added 22 points, while Tut Ruach put 18 on the board.

The Oshawa Power may have a losing record in the NBL, but they're actually 4-1 in overtime contests. And on Saturday night, the Power continued that "fifth quarter" success, as Morgan Lewis' 39 points and 10 rebounds helped the Power earn a 131-127 overtime victory over the Halifax Rainmen. Oshawa's win included 34 points from Brandon Robinson and 25 points from Omari Johnson.

The Quebec Kebs locked themselves in for a postseason spot on Monday night, as they defeated Moncton 96-86 on the road. The win was helped by new signee Taylor King, who gave the Kebs 19 points in his team debut. Aaron Spears had 17 points, while Ricky Volcy added 16. Ralphy Holmes' 10 boards made him Quebec's top rebounder for the night.

Quebec's success was quickly halted on Thursday night, as they fell 104- 92 on the road to the Saint John Mill Rats. Aaron Spears led the team with 16 points, while Shaun Fountain returned from the injured list to put 14 points and six assists on the board.

On Saturday, the Kebs returned to the friendy confines of PEPS to face the Moncton Miracles. With 24 points and 13 rebounds coming from Ricky Volcy, and a 20-point, 13-board night from Ralphy Holmes, the Kebs won their 20th of the year, a 93-82 victory over Moncton.

The Saint John Mill Rats are continuing to fight for that fourth and final playoff spot, and they helped their cause with a big 104-92 victory at Harbour Station against the Quebec Kebs Thursday night. In the Saint John win, Kevin Francis scored 20 points, while Darren Duncan added 18; PJ Young came off the bench to score 15 points, while Anthony Anderson also scored 15 points and distributed six assists.

One day later, however, the Mill Rats came up short at Harbour Station, losing 110-96 to the Summerside Storm. In the loss, Kevin Francis and Steve DeLuca each poured in 16 points apiece; Anthony Anderson had 10 assists to go with his 10 points.

The Summerside Storm's playoff hopes are slim. And a 116-110 home loss Thursday night against the league-leading London Lightning didn't help Summerside's cause. Mike Williams was both the top scorer (23) and top rebounder (11) for Summerside; he also had five assists and two steals. Eric Gilchrese garnered 21 points, while Jessan Gray came off the bench to score 13.

Friday night, however, was a different story. This time, the Storm took a road victory over the Saint John Mill Rats, assembling a 110-96 win on the back of Troy Jackson's 39 team-high points. Louie McCroskey and Mike Williams garnered 22 and 20 points, respectively; Williams also had eight rebounds for Summerside. Game reports compiled via team press releases, and from articles appearing in newspapers from the teams' home locations.
