Hey NWHL fans,
As the inaugural NWHL season comes to an end, we hope that you will join the Boston Pride on Sunday, February 14th as we take on the Connecticut Whale in our final home game of the season! February 14th marks a special day for #ThePack, as we dedicate our home finale to our valiant and inspiring teammate, Denna.
I'm sure most of you have seen Denna's uplifting videos on social media, or the amazing video messages displayed by the NHL, or even caught a glimpse of the newest black and gold additions to her already colorful collection of high heels. But what you might not know about Denna is that she is the most selfless, dedicated, and positive teammate that anyone could ask for. And she has always been that way. Walking into the locker room for practices and games in her pumps (of course) with the biggest smile on her face was the norm, something we all looked forward to. Always a fashionista- notoriously sporting bright orange heels for Princeton game days- I would say that the pinnacle of this season was Denna finding (after a long search) the perfect yellow scarf and pair of gold pumps to wear to games. It was so perfect, so Denna.
In Denna's first Facebook post after the Outdoor Women's Classic, she wrote, "[l]et's start from the beginning, the best day of my life." But what she doesn't know is that the best day of my life was meeting the teammate, friend, and sister who has never once let me down and who will continue to inspire #ThePack and me each and every day. The Pack might be one lion short on February 14th, but we will always be #14Strong, and that's the strongest we've ever been.
Denna Day will include a silent auction, chuck-a-puck, 50/50 raffle, and Denna Laing player t-shirts and bracelets, the proceeds of which will go towards the Denna Laing Fund.
