NEW YORK, NY - The National Women's Hockey League today announced the resignation of NWHL COO and interim Connecticut Whale GM George Speirs.
Speirs joined the league in August 2015 and was instrumental in the league's success so far this year.
"We'd like to thank George for his service and everything he's done to help get the league off the ground," said NWHL Commissioner Dani Rylan. "Despite rumors to the contrary, the league's best interests were always top of mind with George and we're saddened by his decision to leave."
The league will take over team operations until a suitable replacement is found.
