OurSports Central correspondent Fran Stuchbury had the opportunity to interview Philadelphia Soul starting quarterback Tony Graziani at the Soul Summer Slam party at Wildwood, New Jersey. Graziani will enter his second year with the team after passing for 4,272 yards with 90 touchdowns and 15 interceptions last season. Graziani spent the previous four seasons playing for the Los Angeles Avengers and also spent three seasons in the NFL playing for the Atlanta Falcons.

Fran Stuchbury: Are you happy with the addition of Bret Munsey as the new head coach?

Tony Graziani: Yes, definitely. He brings out the enthusiasm and the winning attitude that it's going take to put us over the top.

FS: Were you disappointed with the team performance last season?

TG: Yes, a huge disappointment. We didn't play up to our potential. I think this year we know what it takes, and it's going be a really successful year especially with the leadership of coach Munsey.

FS: You played with late Los Angeles Avengers OL/DL Al Lucas. What type of player was he?

TG: He was a great guy on and off the field. He's one of those guys that you just love being around. His attitude was so infectious. It's real unfortunate he passed away. He had his wife and his daughter - that's who you feel bad for in his family. I'm going miss him, it was a tough thing to happen.

FS: Did you enjoy the time you spent playing for the Los Angeles Avenger? How did you like playing for coach Ed Hodgkiss?

TG: It was a great experience. Coach Hodgkiss taught me the game. We had a good run in there, and I wish them all the best.

FS: What was your experience like when you played for the Atlanta Falcons?

TG: It was great. I got to go to the Super Bowl and be part of the "Dirty Birds." Anytime you play at the highest level and play in the biggest game, it's something special.

FS: Are you committed to playing in the AFL or if an NFL team came knocking down your door would you be interested?

TG: It would have to be the right situation. I wouldn't leave just to be any player. It would have to be a real special deal.

FS: Do you still follow your former college team, the Oregon Ducks?

TG: Yes, I get back to a couple of games every year. I love following the Ducks and hopefully we will have a good year and knock off USC in the Pac10.

FS: How do you like those eye catching uniforms the Ducks wear?

TG: I'm not a big fan. I'm more of an old school guy, but the young kids seem to like it so it's good.
