W - Zachary Rodgers 1-3 (UMass Lowell): 6.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K

L - Erry Baldayac 0-1 (Rhode Island College): 2.1 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 2 K

S - Brady Afthim 3 (Connecticut): 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

Goodall Park in Sanford, ME - The Sanford Mainers (22-22) clinched a playoff spot with a 4-2 victory over the Keene Swamp Bats (17-27).

With a playoff spot on the line, the Mainers got off to a great start. In the bottom of the second inning, Jake Rainess (Maine Orono) led off with a single. He stole second and third base and was driven in on a David Bermudez (Manhattan) RBI single. Devan Bade (Binghamton) was hit by a pitch, then Jayson Kramer (St. John's) and Calvin Hewett (Vanderbilt) walked to drive another run in.

In the next inning, MJ Lucas (North Carolina Asheville) made it 3-0 on a sacrifice fly. In the fourth inning, Calvin Hewett scored on a wild pitch.

Sanford's pitching locked it down throughout the game, as it only allowed one earned run while striking out eight batters with one walk.

The Mainers will be playing the Newport Gulls today on the road for a 6:30 p.m. playoff matchup.

Danbury Westerners 3 - North Shore Navigators 2

W - Garrett Peters 1-0 (Wright State): 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K

L - Max Tarlin 0-2 (Endicott): 1.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

S - Matt Rados 1 (Franklin Pierce): 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

Rogers Park in Danbury, CT - The Danbury Westerners (22-22) defeated the North Shore Navigators (13-31) with some late scoring.

The Westerners were down 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning. Joseph Skarad (Sacred Heart) led off with a single. Harrison Feinberg (Southern California) launched a fly ball over the right-center field wall 2-run home run to give Danbury the lead. In the top of the seventh inning, Matt Rados threw a 1-2-3 inning to secure the victory.

North Shore's highlights included a Charlie Taylor (Tennessee) solo home run and a Jack Penney (Notre Dame) RBI single. Danbury's other run was scored on a Sam Mongelli (Sacred Heart) RBI double.
