Rogers Park in Danbury, Conn. - The Upper Valley Nighthawks (10-7) now ride a five-game win streak as they took down the Danbury Westerners (9-10) Tuesday night, 7-2.

Upper Valley third baseman Ryan Ignoffo (Eastern Illinois) burst out the gate with a home run to open the fourth inning but Danbury pitcher Zach Grace (Wake Forest) denied any further damage to help his team stay in the mix. Westerners' first baseman Colby Canales (Pacific) got home following a double, and an RBI single by catcher Joseph Skarad (Sacred Heart) to tie the game 1-1.

The Westerners used the momentum into the bottom fifth when second baseman Jackson Taylor (Indiana State) got on base with a single, advanced to second, then stole home to put the score 2-1 and take the lead. The lead did not last long - the Nighthawks tallied another six runs with two in the sixth and four in the final inning to put the game out of reach while Moran ensured that no batters could get home for a 7-2 final score. The final rally was highlighted by Ignoffo with two runs, and catcher Nicholas Fazzari (Charleston Southern), center fielder Tyler Sorrentino (Charleston), left fielder Johnny Decker (Marist) and first baseman Clay Stearns (Troy) with one each.

Ignoffo dominated the offense, as he was 3-for-4 batting, and led all categories with three runs and three RBI.

The Nighthawks will look to continue their hot streak on the road as they face the Keene Swamp Bats (7-11) tomorrow at 6:30 pm while the Westerners regroup tomorrow as they prepare for a matchup against Martha's Vineyard Sharks (10-8) on Thursday June 30.

Old Mountain Field in South Kingston, R.I. - The Ocean State Waves (9-10) claimed their third straight win in an interdivisional matchup against the North Shore Navigators (3-15).

The Waves jump-started the game with a 3-run effort in the opening-frame. The effort was led by center fielder Khyree Miller (Winthrop) who hit a bomb towards the outfield to get himself, along with right fielder Jake Studley (Connecticut), home while third baseman Drew Holderbach (Marietta) singled first baseman Daniel Baruch (Boston) for a 3-0 lead.

The Navs responded with a run in the top of the second when designated hitter Connor Bertsch (Dartmouth) ran home off of a single by second baseman Ty Dooley (Radford).

OCean State followed with another multi-run rally, with Studley adding a home-run of his own and a three-run homer by Baruch for a 7-1 score heading into the fourth. The Waves tacked on another three runs by third baseman Creek Robertson (Southern Mississippi), shortstop Max Johnson (Indiana), and designated hitter Justin Szestowicki (North Carolina Chapel Hill) to close out the game, 10-1.

Studley and Baruch dominated the batting stats as they had two runs and a home-run each. Navs pitcher, Max Tarlin (Endicott) was impressive on the mound as he did not allow a single batter on base and struck out two in the time he pitched.

The Waves hit the road as they take on Martha's Vineyard Sharks (10-8) tomorrow at 7:05pm as the Navigators head back home to host the Sanford Mainers (8-10) at 6:35pm.

Winnipesaukee Muskrats 14 - Keene Swamp Bats 5

W - Geoffery Mosseau 1-0 (St. John's): 5.0 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 7 K

L - Michael Ross 0-2 (Samford): 2.2 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 3 K

Alumni Field in Keene, N.H. - The Winnipesaukee Muskrats (8-9) dominated for a 14-5 victory over the Keene Swamp Bats (7-11).

The Muskrats' offense never took its foot off the gas, as the team scored in seven of the game's nine innings. In the second inning, Michael Borrelli (St. Anselm) singled and Cole Palmeri (Colby) was hit by a pitch. With two outs, Jacob Corson (Bucknell) hit a 2-run double to make it 3-0. The inning that followed provided three runs for Winnipesaukee, which was highlighted by an RBI single by Ian Battipaglia (Franklin Pierce).

Two innings later, another multiple-run rally occurred for the Muskrats. After Brady Day (Kansas State) walked and Borrelli reached on a fielder's choice, Jack Thorbahn (Northeastern) hit a 3-run home run to make it 9-2. In the next inning, Cristian Mercedes (Southern New Hampshire) hit a 2-run home run to give Winnipesaukee a nine-run lead. Mercedes ended up 4-for-6 on the day while Borrelli went 3-for-5.

The Muskrats will return home for a 6 p.m. game tomorrow against the Newport Gulls. Keene will look to recover in another home divisional matchup today against the Upper Valley Nighthawks at 6:30 p.m.

Martha's Vineyard Sharks 11 - Valley Blue Sox 2

W - Noah Johnson 1-1 (Virginia Tech): 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K

L - Ryan Robidoux 0-1 (Westfield State): 4.0 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

Mackenzie Stadium in Holyoke, MA - The Martha's Vineyard Sharks (10-8) earned an 11-2 victory over the Valley Blue Sox (11-8).

The scoring began in the first inning for the Sharks, and like a lot of their scoring, Matt Woods (Bryant) was involved. He led off the first with a double, then stole third base. After that, he scored on a groundout to make it 1-0.

Vineyard's next rally was much bigger, but it was also started by Woods. In the top of the third inning, he led off with a single. Then Danny Crossen (Northeastern) singled, and that set up for Ryan Nicholson to hit a 2-run double to give the Sharks a 3-1 lead. Nicholson also scored that inning on a Harrison Brown (Austin Peay) sacrifice fly.

Luke Masiuk (Northeastern) opened up the scoring in the fourth inning with a solo home run. Then, Thomas Bramley reached on a walk, and Woods reached on a single. They eventually scored in the inning after an error. A Henry Wallen RBI double, Woods 2-run single, and Danny Crossen RBI single was how the Sharks scored their last four runs en route to an 11-2 victory.

The Sharks' pitching staff was also particularly excellent, as Adam Stone (Harvard), Noah Johnson, Jacob Weaver (Austin Peay), Joseph Williams (Ponoma-Ptitzer), Benjamin Wiegman (Louisville), and Zachary Clesas (Wheaton) combined for 19 strikeouts while walking just one Blue Sox batter.

The Sharks will return home today for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Ocean State Waves. The Blue Sox will stay at home for a 6:35 p.m. game against the Vermont Mountaineers.
