The nameless team gets a name

November 17, 2005 - Intense Football League (Intense) - CenTex Barracudas News Release

Belton, TX: The newest Professional Sports Team in Central Texas now has a name, logo, player, and even uniforms. The team will be called the CenTex Barracudas. "When we were looking at names for the team here we wanted to be unique and I think with the Barracudas we have definitely done that", stated Team Owner Chad Dittman. The logo demonstrates the fierce and fiery look that we wanted. It will make for amazing caps, shirts, and much more...The colors are black, white, silver, blue, and red.

The next announcement we have for you today is we are announcing our 1st player signed to the Barracudas. We would like to welcome Rory Peacock as the first player signed to the Barracudas and he is sporting our new home jersey, which is bright red with silver dazzle down the side. The Barracudas name proud across the chest with the primary logo on each sleeve and Rory's #84, which he has made famous at all levels he has played at, including the 2004 season for the Odessa Roughnecks where he reeled in 77 receptions for 895 yards and 17 Td's. He is sure to be a local fan favorite when he steps on the field in April. Speaking of April the CenTex Barracudas will play their first home game in team history on April 14th, 2006 at 7:05 vs. the Odessa Roughnecks. The Roughnecks finished last season an incredible 16-1. We are in final negotiations for our Head coaching position and expect to announce him in the next couple of weeks.

All Home games will be played at Dennis Eakin AutoPlex Field inside the Bell County Expo Center. Season Tickets and sponsorships are now available by calling our office at 939-3941. Don't get left out in the heat for these sure sellout games.
